A New England tradition since the 1940s, still run by the same family
The absolute best lobster this side of heaven. Sitting at picnic tables overlooking the cove while eating is pure New England perfection.— TripAdvisor reviewer, rated #1 in Marshfield
Green Harbor Lobster Pound has been serving the South Shore since the late 1940s — and we haven’t changed much on purpose.
Now run by Paul Philpott and his mother Dottie Duggan, we’re still the same family-owned seasonal spot right on Green Harbor, tucked between the Cut River and the sea. Paul describes it as “stepping through a time portal to the 1970s.” The shack is humble, the picnic tables are on the water, and the lobsters come straight from the local boats.
Our clams are from Ipswich (the sweetest around), scallops from New Bedford, and haddock from Ipswich — all from the finest local fisheries. Every lobster roll is stuffed with meat hand-shucked fresh that morning. Dog-friendly, harbor-side, and always worth the line.
